A family of bridges

The canal Almelo- de Haandrik has been upgraded: the canal is now accessible for boats up to 700 tons. For this reason five movable bridges have been replaced. The bridges have a modern design and are as such clearly related to each other, whilst also responding to their location.

The Herrons bridge has an open upper structure and a modern look

Duo tone coloring is used to visualy reduce the scale of the bridge to match its pitoresk surroundings.

The mechanical workings of the bridge are emphasized in the open connection point of the cantilever with the lifting cables.
