The Monderian

One DNA, five bridges
Almelo de Haandrik, The Netherlands

architecture

A family of bridges

The canal Almelo- de Haandrik has been upgraded: the canal is now accessible for boats up to 700 tons. For this reason five movable bridges have been replaced. The bridges have a modern design and are as such clearly related to each other, whilst also responding to their location.

The minimalist Mondrianesque design of the Bergentheim Bridge, refers to the orthogonal structure of its surroundings.
