New city new life

Land is extremely scarce in the Maldives, which acts as a constraint on the development of the country. This is especially true for Male, the capital city of the country, with a population of more than 100,000 people concentrated on just two square kilometres. (the below growing of the island under construction)

The main justification for the new green city project, Gulhi Falhu, derives from this scarcity of land in the greather Male region.

Gulhi Falhu reef and lagoon is located 3 km West of Male, the capital city of the Maldives, as a new reclaimed land planned with new facilities. Its designed to be safe against sea rise for at least next 100 years.

The ambition of the prioject is to create new quality life of life, accesable to everyone and found in a sustainable development.

The Wave, part of the Gulhi Falu land devolpment project, is designed as high quality social housing for small families at afforable prices for all inhabitants of Maldives
